Mega Morning Deals

Saw this on Fox and friends today and thought it was interesting:

Mega Morning deals.. Have you bought from here?

Steals and Deals

I finally got a chance to bring over my  links for steals and deals to this site. You’ll find them on the sidebar. If you have any sites you’d like for me to add, feel free to drop me a line.

Bargainist and other sites – Deals and Coupons

As the resident cheapskate in my family, I’m always looking for the next great deal!

I haven’t had a chance to look at sites besides my normal haunts for deals, but today I found some that warrant your look and see. Each of the sites below offer RSS feeds that enable you to get daily deal feeds via your Yahoo or iGoogle home pages.  Of course each of the sites provide you with printable and on-line coupon codes so you can continue to load up your home with techie items that you absolutely, positively, think you need..

Bargainist is a site that not only shows you deals, coupons, and freebies, it also gives some good advice on how to save money. This is what differentiates this site from other sites that I’ve mentioned in previous posts.

My other favorite is slickdeals.  For the ease of use, this site continues to be my fav.

I’ve mentioned the sites below in prior posts, but I’m re-listing in summary form below. The sites below are ones in which I get daily feeds on my customized Yahoo and Google page respectively:

  1. Slick Deals
  2. Techbargains
  3. Woot
  4. XP Bargains
  5. Wisebread
  6. Dealhack

There are of course many other sites for coupons and  shopping, but any one of the above can do some serious damage to your credit card.  I’ve decided that my mantra continues to be:

“If it’s not a deal, I’m not buying!”… 🙂 I have a tendency to by technology stuff that I’ll never use.

If you know of other sites that readers might like, feel free to leave me a comment.

Free Shipping – Scour Web for Free shipping codes…

If you do most of your shopping on-line, I know I get annoyed with the shipping charges that get tacked on to my purchases. To get around this annoyance, I found this site where they actually scan the web for free shipping sites and codes which give you free shipping.

In the past I’ve directed you to my site where I have some sites for shopping, I’m re-listing the site for shopping and price comparisons, coupon codes.

Of course remember for the latest in sites, I post them here as I come across them. Hope you find it useful. Feel free to leave me comments or if you have any sites you wish to add…

Have fun and remember: “It’s always better to receive savings then to put money in the pockets of the stores”.

Black Friday Sites – Updated 2009

black friday

I published this entry last year and now I’m updating with new sites that I’ve f ound:

Thre are so many “official black friday sites” , I leave it to you  to pick and choose. Many sites will have the same sales, so you have to pick and choose. I made the mistake a few years ago of going to Best Buy to stand in the dark and cold for 2 hours at 1:00 AM in the morning and coming home empty handed. That was the end of my shopping on black Friday.

With my finances being the way they are,  I won’t be doing much shopping this year. Unless of course lightning strikes and I win the Mega Millions Lottery!

Some of the tricks to Black Friday Success. Not in any order of success percentages:

  • Divide and Conquer: Once you decide on a specific item to purchase, divide up amongst your family/friends, the store coverage. Never a good idea for everyone to go to one store trying to race into the store to pick up the same item. Guaranteed failure.
  • Look On-Line First – Many times you will find better deals on-line as opposed to the bricks and mortar approach. Many stores are now offering Black Friday deals the Night Before or even up to a week before Black Friday!
  • Create a list of items – Make a specific list of target items.. Do not expect to be able to make this list while on the huge wait lines or crammed into the stores. Been there done that!
  • Be prepared for Shopping Failure Even if you do all of the above, the success on Black Friday is all about timing and being in the right place at the right time. In my case, I end up getting the “scraps” or “discards” that others have picked up and discarded.. Hey sometimes, even with this, you will get a gem of an item that someone wanted and then changed their Mind.

Below are some sites that I’ve been looking at.  As I always say, look and Ye shall find a bargain!

Below is my posting from 2008 as an FYI:

Not really in the mood to write this with what is going on in Mumbai, but publishing for future reference.

So tomorrow is “Black Friday“. I was looking at some of the sales and because of the current state of the economy and my financial situation, I wasn’t enthusiastic.

Perhaps next year will be better and I’m publishing some sites which give some some excellent ideas on some bargains:

*** NEW** and Old Excellent Coupon Sites

I know, I know, I always seem to be writing about coupons! What can I say, these sites just happen to fall into my lap. I was reading this mailing from Bottom line and I came across some sites that looked promising. So I’m jotting them down for future investigation.

  • Coupon Mom – I’ve used this site before, so much information, that I found myself in information overload. Quality of information is excellent! I get a weekly email which I read all the time. Worth your time. You can get grocery and all kinds of coupon here.
  • Hot Coupon World – New to me. Need to check it out. Very powerful site because of the forums. I always prefer the forums, as it give more accurate and up to date information on bargains and deals.
  • Tech Bargains – I use this on a daily basis. I recommend this to get all your tech toys. Without reservation.
  • About:Com: Coupon/Bargains – I did some snooping here and I liked the content, because it is well organized and is excellent reading about the art of being frugal and coupanizing (yes, I just made up that word) your life. I would start here first because of the vast array of couponizing (can I patent this new word I made up?)

For me the site I always turn to for printable coupons is wow-coupons. I’ve mentioned this site multiple times, but I keep going back again and again here when I need barnes and noble and Staples coupons.

Two sites that I’ve discussed multiple times is coolsavings and smartsource. Both are mega sites for coupons. I like both sites, but smartsource is the better of the two for grocery coupons. Now if I could only convince my better half the art of maximum coupanizing.

That’s a discussion for another day.

In all the sites above, I recommend getting a disposable email account which most of the free email services offer, to avoid being spammed to death. I’ll discuss that in later postings

ShopLocal – find Local coupons and circulars

If you want to see your local coupons/sales/deals and didn’t buy the Sunday paper, check out Shoplocal. You can change your location very easily so you can find as the site says shop Local. I found the site to be very clean and easy to navigate.

Only odd thing that I found was that, I couldn’t find Middletown, NJ when I tried to change Location via the city selection. Yet when I changed manually to Middletown, NJ I saw coupons for cities that were nowhere near Middletown

Site is good in that you can set up email alerts (make sure you read the privacy policy).

What I liked about this site was that you can break out your selections by:

  • weekly ads
  • stores
  • coupons

Amazon Deals and ways to spend your Money

As you know by now, I love to find bargains. I’ve purchased stuff from Amazon, but could never get an overall synopsis of items on clearance or sale.

Here’s a link from the simple dollar which shows you how to get deals on Amazon and some additional tips for bargain hunting via RSS feeds.

This is my contribution to helping Amazon make more money and for people to get some bargains.

Amazon’s GOLD box of deals on one page

I just wonder can you use the gold box in conjunction with the $25 filler items to get free shipping. After all who doesn’t like free shipping?

Deals2Buy – Everyday Hot Deals and coupons

Thanks to my friend at work (AM) for this site. He visits this site every day for Hot deals across the web. I liked it too. check it out: Deals2buy
